Longride tour in central america 2003

Riding through Guatemala and Mexico
The project is a longriding tour in central america. I ride together with Barbara Kohmanns who has been riding in south and central america for about two years. We start in Guatemala city in the middle of August and ride through Guatemala and Mexico till the end of October.

The goal of the trip
My goal with the trip is to meet with central america, its nature and people and to travel and live with a horse during a longer period. To travel like this gives experiences that differs from an ordinary backpacker trip. We ride away from the bigger roads. Every day we have to take contact with people in the villages to get permission to let our horses graze there. We will learn to know the people in a different way than an ordinary tourist and we will also reach places that is difficult to reach without a horse. It is also a challange to live in the nature with the changes of the weather and to be two persons who will cooperate and live tight together for three months.
